New Nassau Coliseum eateries will include Mexican delicacies, seafood delights

The wait is almost over: The new Nassau Coliseum is set to open in early April. In addition to a star-studded line up of events, there will be food. Eight popular local restaurants will be part of the dining experience.

If you like Mexican food and concerts then you're in luck, because soon you can pair some of Cabo: A Taste of Mexico’s delectable dishes with your favorite artist. Four of Cabo’s dishes will be available at the new coliseum.

There’s no going south of the border for the Rockville Centre restaurant’s delightful eats, but how about Hempstead Turnpike instead?

The new Nassau Coliseum's dining experience "Long Island Taste" will include food from eight local restaurants and businesses, including the aforementioned Cabo: A Taste of Mexico.

The North Park Avenue restaurant is owned by Angelo Ramunni and his wife Filomena.

In addition to Cabo, the other local businesses to soon be found at the coliseum will include: Vincent's Clam Bar, Nathan's, Umberto's, Roast Sandwich House, Smokin' Al’s, Greekrave and Prime Food Distributor.

Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano says the new coliseum's food stands out because the variety of choices is not something typically found at an arena.

The first artist set to perform at the new coliseum is a Long Island favorite. Mangano says the Piano Man himself, Billy Joel, will open the new venue on April 5. Other artists to follow range from Stevie Nicks to Metallica.
