METALLICA TO BRING WORLDWIRED 2017 TOUR TO THE NEW COLISEUM PRESENTED BY NEW YORK COMMUNITY BANK ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 17Feb 13, 2017
LONG ISLAND (Feb. 13, 2017) -- Nine-time GRAMMY® Award-winning rock band and 2009 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Metallica, will bring its WorldWired 2017 Tour to The New Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum Presented by New York Community Bank on Wednesday, May 17 in what will be the only arena stop on the band’s North American stadium tour.
Tickets to the show go on sale Friday, February 17 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased on ticketmaster.com, nassaucoliseum.com, or by calling 800-745-3000. Presale tickets will be available beginning Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 11 a.m.
The WorldWired 2017 Tour supports Metallica’s new album, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct, and marks the band’s first North American tour since 2009. Danish heavy metal band, Volbeat, is the main support act for the show at The New Coliseum presented by NYCB.
Hardwired...To Self-Destruct, released on November 18 on Metallica's own Blackened Recordings record label, debuted at No. 1 around the world and sold more than 800,000 copies worldwide in its first week.
Each ticket purchased for the WorldWired 2017 Tour will come with a copy of the Hardwired…To Self-Destruct album as a CD or digital download. Fans should expect to receive information from Warner Music Artist Services on how to redeem their albums within 14 business days after their purchase. Metallica has partnered with CID Entertainment to offer four options of special enhanced experiences on this tour, including premium tickets and amenities, including: early access to the venue, a visit to the “Memory Remains” exhibit of memorabilia, and meet and greets. Additionally, Metallica has formed its All Within My Hands Foundation, which raises funds to support a cross-section of national, local, and Bay Area charities the band members support. The foundation will also support music education programs and local food banks.
