To our Long Island friends and neighbors,
We have nothing but gratitude for the Long Island community that has been able to share wonderful memories with us these last few years at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
We understand what this building means to so many, and we are forever grateful to be a chapter in its rich history.
The venue has brought together friends to tailgate and cheer on the Islanders, brought professional basketball back to Long Island and professional lacrosse to the community, brought families to Disney on Ice and other family shows, brought fans to sing their hearts out with their favorite performers, and so much more.
From the Coliseum’s reopening performance of Billy Joel, to the playoff runs with the New York Islanders and Long Island Nets, to a sold-out Celine Dion concert days before closing our doors, we will reminisce fondly with everyone who has participated in any way in restoring and reinventing the Coliseum. We want to thank those we have been such an integral part of the Coliseum’s success, particularly our employees and vendors who welcomed the fans and kept them safe, served food and drinks, set-up the events and concerts, cleaned after every event, marketed and sold the building and our events, and all of those behind the scenes that made the events happen every night. We also want to thank all of the promoters, managers, artists, leagues, teams, and athletes for supporting our building. Lastly, we want to thank the community, which includes our fans, followers, neighbors, partners, and sponsors that have been so important to our successes.
Long Island, it has been our honor. We are proud of the top international talent that we were able to bring to the Coliseum and the record-breaking attendance.
We anticipate that soon enough another party will have the opportunity to operate the building, and the doors will safely reopen once again.
